A family estate dating back 400 years, Finca Torrecillas has maintained its centuries-long quest to preserve the same self-sufficient lifestyle, based in Mediterranean traditions and respect for nature and history. Upon arrival, you'll be greeted by the current owner and descendant and led on a tour of the main house. Learn family history through old pictures, cooking recipes, postcard collection, drawing blogs and much more. Then, follow your guide out to a landscape of rain-fed crops, bicentennial olive tree collection, almond and carob trees, and fig and pomegranate trees. The nearly 250-acre area is also a breeding ground for many species of birds of prey such as the eagle owl, golden eagle, and sparrow hawk. Snakes, lizards and other reptiles are also an integral part of the ecosystem. Before returning to Cartagena, sit and relax in the courtyard enjoying a traditional picnic Spanish snack.
