Go for the gold with an excursion that offers a little bit of everything you're looking for while on vacation: shopping and the ultimate in sightseeing. First on the itinerary is Kuranda Village. Nestled in the World Heritage-Listed Rainforest, it's a shopper's paradise. When you step off the coach, you'll have free time to explore on your own. Browse the shops of artists and craft workers in search of exotically handcrafted goods, Aboriginal artifacts, fine art, photographs, jewelry and pottery. Next, you'll hop aboard the Kuranda Scenic Railway to Freshwater Station. Built between 1886 to 1891 to connect Cairns with the North Queensland goldfields, the railway offers amenities gold miners could only dream of-a Gold Class Carriage ride. Sit back and take pleasure in the luxury and heritage of hand-crafted Victorian inspired decor and club class lounge seating while enjoying appetizers and sparkling wine or beer.
