Description
Be sure to read the Special Notes further down this page for important requirements and restriction.
From the pier, board your 15-passenger, high-powered Zodiac and set off on an action-packed adventure in search of the humpback whales that frequent the waters off Cabo San Lucas from December through April. The Zodiac ride is fast and fun. It offers a spirited alternative to large whale watching cruises and is an exhilarating way to explore the waters. Your guide enhances the experience by providing commentary and answering questions.
Your nimble vessel will cruise past Land's End, where the Pacific Ocean and the Sea of Cortez meet. Here you will see the spectacular rock formation and landmark known as the Arch. A sea lion colony is nearby and you'll swing by to say hello. You also have the possibility of seeing dolphins and other marine life frolicking in the water.
Continue your search for whales. When they are spotted, the agile nature of the vessel allows the captain to get up close and personal for a unique encounter. You will have the best possible view and can photograph the whales without disturbing them.
From mid to late fall, humpback whales make the longest migration of any mammal. They complete a 6,000-mile journey from their summer homes in the Bering Strait to the warmer winter waters of Baja California and the Sea of Cortez. The humpback whale is not the only species you may see: keep an eye out for the blue and gray varieties as well. Spouting is usually the first thing you will spot. It is the great plume of water and spray caused by the whale's exhaling of air. If you are truly lucky, you may see a whale breaching, which is when they leap partially or completely out of the water.
Although we cannot put a guarantee on Mother Nature, your chances of seeing a whale on this excursion are excellent. Bottled water and soft drinks are provided.
