Travel through the city's northern suburbs, passing the impressive Municipal Museum en route to the Tongdosa Temple. Driving through the pine forest, you will then arrive at this truly unique location. Tongdosa means "saving the world through mastering truth", and you will enjoy quiet time at this temple which dates back to 646 A.D. Enjoy the picturesque grounds, centuries-old murals, and Buddhist relics brought from China in the 4th century. Then head to the 35-acre United Nations Memorial Cemetery, a final resting place for soldiers and medical personnel who gave their lives during the Korean War. Stroll through the neat rows of stone markers before boarding the bus for the journey back to port.

A visit to Tongdosa Temple involves considerable walking. Wear comfortable and sturdy low-heeled shoes.
