Be sure to read the Special Notes further down this page for important requirements and restriction.
Be transported back in time beginning with a visit to the village of Morlaix, a 12th century town whose colossal two-story viaduct crosses the deep valley carved by the River Dossen. A guided walking tour of Morlaix's old town showcases sites such as St. Mélaine's Church, whose flamboyant Gothic façade is graced with modern stained-glass windows. The highlight maybe a walk down Rue Ange de Guernisac, a charming street lined with fine corbelled and half-timbered houses. Next destination is the Château de Kerjean. Built around 1550 for the Marquis de Kerjean, the chateau was damaged in the 1790s during the French Revolution and fell into disrepair and restored in the last 40 years. Enjoy time to stroll among the adjoining 49-acre park. Along the paths, which are laid out in the geometric pattern that was fashionable in the 17th and 18th centuries, are Renaissance fountains, flower gardens and a 29-foot-high dovecot.
Special Notes:
Due to the nature of the tour, it is not recommended for those with mobility challenges. Cobblestones and uneven ground in Morlaix, uneven terrain in the Castle gardens and many stairs in the Castle. Entrances to churches & cathedral subject to religious ceremonies.Details
