What could be more relaxing than soaking up the seaside serenity aboard a catamaran with a refreshing drink in hand? Enjoy the panorama of sea and sky as the captain steers a course around the beautiful Bay of Islands, the northernmost point on New Zealand's North Island, to the Cape Brett Peninsula. Along the way, curious bottlenose and common dolphins may accompany the boat so keep your camera handy. From the catamaran's comfortable indoor and outdoor viewing decks, you'll be able to see the historic Cape Brett Lighthouse and the famous Cathedral Caves, created by waves over 160 million years. The skipper will then circle Piercy Island, also known as Motukokako Island, and weather permitting, sail through the famed Hole in the Rock. Perhaps one of the most naturally beautiful sights in all of New Zealand, the 70-meter-long tunnel (229-foot-long) was created over centuries by wind and waves.
Special Notes:
Sightings of dolphin and other marine life are common but cannot be guaranteed. Cruising to and through the Hole in the Rock is dependent on sea and weather conditions; a cruise of only the bay will be done during poor weather conditionsYour power catamaran features comfortable indoor and open-deck seating, full restroom facilities, and a range of drinks and snacks available for cash purchase.
Please note morning departures of this tour will return to Paihia Wharf; a complimentary five-minute shuttle ride will return you to the tender pier.
