WHAT YOU VISIT
- Mount Gay Distillery
Named after company founder John Gay, the distillery was established in 1703 and through the centuries has produced some of the world's most distinguished rums. After a state-of-the-art multimedia presentation at the Visitor's Center, you'll embark on a guided tour of the distillery. Knowledgeable guides will show you how the rum is distilled, aged, blended and bottled using only the finest sugar cane, aromatic molasses and pristine coral filtered water native to the island. Complete your visit with samples of this popular spirit.

- Foursquare Rum Distillery
Although it's set on the site of a former sugar factory dating back to 1636, its distillation methods are definitely innovative. Green technology has been utilized in every step of the rum making process and the measurable results are outstanding, making it one of the most modern in the world. During your visit you'll learn about the company's heritage and its devotion to the 350-year-old Barbadian tradition of rum making. At the end of your tour, you will be escorted into a meeting room near the bottling plant and given the opportunity to taste the different kinds of rum they produce.

PHOTO OPPORTUNITY
As you drive onto the Foursquare Rum Distillery, you'll meander up through a field of sugarcane. Here, you'll find that almost ten acres have been transformed into a beautifully landscaped property complete with gardens, fully restored plantation outbuildings, a petting zoo, an amphitheater, small museums and, of course, a cutting edge rum distillery.

SHOPPING
Bring home a taste of the Caribbean with a visit to the Mount Gay Distillery gift shop where you'll find rum cakes, rum sauces and, of course, bottles of the world's oldest rum, as well as hand carved items such as trays and barrel tops, and bar accessories.

Special Notes:

Bottling plants are closed on Saturday, Sunday and bank holidays. Wear loose, comfortable clothing. Coaches are not permitted to take scooters, wheelchairs or walkers. There are stairs at the Mount Gay Rum Distillery.
