The east coast of Barbados is dominated by dramatic ocean-carved cliffs, windswept beaches, rocky shores and breathtaking panoramic vistas. A 4x4 vehicle is the best way to explore, allowing off-road capabilities on an exciting three-hour adventure. Climb aboard and set off through old sugar plantations and over a 300-year-old bridge. You'll travel 1,000 feet above sea level to Edgecliff, where you'll stop to photograph the picture-perfect panoramic views of the entire east coast of the island. Continue on to the fishing village of Bathsheba, where frothy waves crash along the beach. Take a moment to walk along this stretch of sand and view the jagged rock formations. Continue back through a series of tiny villages and then up to a viewing point before descending into historic Holetown, the landing point for the first English settlers in 1627. Your return drive to port includes views of the glamorous properties and resorts that dot the scenic west coast.
