- Skadar Lake
Be sure to read the Special Notes further down this page for important requirements and restriction.
Escape to the cool refuge of Lake Skadar. Far off the beaten track, the seclusion and serenity of the lake are unsurpassed. After following a scenic route to Lake Skadar National Park, you'll step off the coach and onto a boat for a memorable cruise across the mirrored water of one of the last freshwater reserves in the country. Over 370 square kilometers (square 142 miles) in summer to a massive 530 square kilometers (240 square miles) in winter, the stunning lake is surrounded by dramatic mountains, chestnut-covered hills, and blooming wildflowers. Keep your eyes open and camera ready for the 280 species of birds and 50 species of fish that make their home in the lake. Depending on the weather and season, you may be able to take a refreshing dip in the lake before heading to a nearby restaurant for fish freshly plucked from the lake.
Special Notes:
Swimming depends on local weather conditions and it is done from the boat, not from a beach. Wear your swimsuit under your clothes and bring a towel if you plan to swim. Take sunblock, head cover and sunglasses. Guests must negotiate three steps (with handrail) to get on and off the boat. Although the lake is also well known for its many species of birds, the sightings are unlikely during late morning and afternoon hours, especially during the hot summer months. This tour is not wheelchair accessible and not recommended to guests with walking difficulties or using mobility devices.Details
