A guided walking tour through the heart of Athens includes a visit to the historic Acropolis. Climb the 80 steep steps through the Propylaea, the monumental marble gateway to these incredible ruins. On the highest point stands the Parthenon, one of the greatest monuments of ancient civilization. On the north side of the Acropolis lays the Erectheum, the sacred site where it was decided that Athena would rule the city. After viewing the area, enjoy a narrated tour that travels past the Old Olympic Stadium, built to host the games in 1896, and other major landmarks. Your next stop is the Plaka area, the city's historic shopping district.
