A walk to Plaka, Athen's charming old quarter, offers free time to walk its narrow streets, shop and stop in a local taverna for a delightful selection of Greek mezes. Refreshed, you'll visit the Agora, Athens's once bustling political and administrative heart followed by a stop at Stoa of Attalos, a reconstructed building that offers a look at life in ancient Athens with a collection of everyday objects that were unearthed during excavations.

This tour involves extensive walking over uneven surfaces, including steps at the Acropolis and Ancient Agora, so comfortable shoes are essential. The itinerary sequence may vary based on traffic and operational factors. Free time in Plaka allows for shopping and exploration, but guests must rejoin the group on time. The Acropolis visit includes a moderate uphill walk and 80 steps to negotiate, requiring a good level of fitness. Flash photography and large backpacks may be restricted in certain historical sites.
