To fully admire the majesty of Aomori's natural highlights, view them by motorcoach, boat and aerial tramway on this exciting and scenic full-day adventure. Journey to Mt. Hakkoda, the name of a range of dormant volcanoes that lie south of Aomori. Travel by aerial tramway, soaring over 4,000 feet to the summit. From this dazzling vantage point, see the spectacular swamps and fertile marshes left over from the volcanic eruptions and take in the views from Mutsu Bay all the way to Tsugaru Peninsula. Next, drive past Oirase Stream, lined with lush foliage and studded with cascading waterfalls. Pause at a local venue for lunch, then walk to Lake Towada, which sits in a large crater of an active volcano, the third deepest lake in Japan. Relax on a cruise around the lake, designated a special scenic spot and natural monument of Aomori. Return to the pier with a warm appreciation of Aomori's natural splendor.
Special Notes:
Much of Lake Towada and Mt. Hakkoda is on bare, uneven ground; this tour is not recommended for passengers with walking difficulties. Mt Hakkoda Ropeway & Towada cruise will not operate in bad weather conditionsJapanese yen are required for additional purchases. This tour will not operate in winter time (usually from November until beginning of May) due to heavy snow in the area.
