Calling all gourmet coffee fanatics! Make a social impact by pitching in to plant coffee seedlings while learning how Dominican coffee is planted, harvested and roasted. Your adventure takes you off the beaten path via an open-air truck into the mountainous countryside to a rural community where coffee growing is a way of life. The friendly coffee farmers will share their traditional methods of growing, picking and processing the coffee beans that are synonymous with delicious Dominican coffee. Enjoy a cup or two before heading to the fields and, if you wish, helping out by planting seedlings or taking turns at roasting the beans. After working up an appetite, you'll enjoy a hearty helping of the Dominican Republic's national dish "rice, beans ,chicken stew, salad" or better known as the Dominican flag, at a beautiful mountain lodge for before rejoining the truck to return to your ship.
