Enjoy a glimpse into Milne Bay village life as you live the day like a local. Enjoy a scenic drive through the countryside and the centre of the historic cannibalistic hinterland, passing through endless hectares of Palm Oil Plantations, before arriving at Bibiko Village. Here, you will learn about the introduction of western culture and how it has been integrated into the local, traditional way of life. You will be able to see firsthand what it is like to live in a PNG village, and you will have the opportunity to sample some local dishes made from a traditional clay pot.
You will learn about the history of the war canoe and why it is so important to village life. Your last stop for the day is the Milne Bay War Memorial, which was constructed by Australian soldiers. You will hear about the Battle of Milne Bay and why it played such an important role in World War II.
