Enjoy a full day away from your ship on this dramatic tour of one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, accompanied by your English-speaking guide. Drive to the Step Pyramid of Sakkara, which was built for the burial of Pharaoh Djoser by the architect Imhotep, back in the 28th century. It is the oldest of Egypt's 110 pyramids and includes a temple, which is accessed by an impressive colonnade of 40 pillars. Journey to a local hotel in Cairo for a delicious buffet style lunch before driving to the Great Pyramids of Giza. View the Great Pyramid of Cheops, which was constructed from more than two million limestone blocks, and the smaller Pyramids of Chephren and Mycerinus. If time permits, browse the lively souvenir shop, before visiting the Sphinx, which was built in the shape of a lion but features a human head.

The drive from Alexandria to Cairo is approximately 3 1/2 hours long; the return trip is approximately three hours long.
