Your excursion begins at the pier where you will board your air-conditioned motorcoach and travel the Great Southern Highway from the port of Albany to the city of Denmark, home of Walpole-Nornalup National Park. Upon arrival you'll head to the Valley of the Giants Tree Top Walk. Here, you will be awestruck by the beauty of the forest and its towering karri and tingle trees. The karri tree has a smooth bark and it can grow nearly 300 feet high, making it the tallest tree in Western Australia and one of the world's tallest hardwood trees. The red tingle tree has a rough bark and can live more than 400 years, growing up to nearly 250 feet in height, with a girth of up to 85 feet. Walpole-Nornalup National Park is the only place where the red tingle tree still exists.
Traverse a canopy path some 120 feet above the forest floor for a bird's-eye view of the ancient trees. A thrilling experience and you can be assured the walkway's lightweight steel trusses do provide secure support.
Afterwards, you will travel to a local restaurant where you'll enjoy a two-course lunch. Following lunch, if time permits, explore the shops and galleries in the quaint old lumber town of Denmark.
Back on board your motorcoach, you will travel along the coastal heaths of William Bay National Park. The spectacular scenery includes a group of gray rocks that resemble elephants resting peacefully in the water. Keep an eye out for the natural phenomenon called the Green Pool, a sea pool with brilliant blue-green water.
Upon arrival at Rockcliffe Winery you will enjoy a wine tasting of several different local wines that are produced by the estate.
