Embark on a unique and immersive experience in the culturally rich city of Akita. Your adventure begins with a stop at the Akita Public Market, a lively indoor shopping venue filled with private stores and colorful stalls that sell everything from fresh fish to fruits and pastries. During your visit, you can grab local delicacies to eat while you walk or sit down. Next, is a visit to the Akita City Folk Performing Arts Heritage Center for a look at the history and traditions of the Kanto Festival. Dating back to the 17th century, the festival is held to pray for a good harvest. Parades include performers carrying over seven-meter-high (26-foot-high) life-sized paper lanterns. During your visit, you'll have the chance to hold an authentic Kanto lantern before traveling to lovely Senshu Park for a tea party and performance by a Maiko, a traditional Japanese entertainer.

Shoes must be removed when entering the room for Tea Party(Maiko Performance). Wheelchair access to the room for Maiko performance is not available. On Sundays, Tea Party (Maiko performance) is not exclusive to Princess guests.Details
