Journey 1,100 years back through time to the town of Jelling, considered the birthplace of Denmark. Gain insight into the history of Viking king Gorm the Old and his son Harald Bluetooth, as you stroll through one of Denmark's most treasured attractions, the Jelling Stones complex. It was here that they built two great mounds, erected two runic stones and a gigantic grave marker, all recognized by UNESCO as "striking examples of pagan Nordic culture." Surrounding these magnificent stones and mounds are traces of the first Danish fortification, marked by concrete pillars. Evidence suggests that the massive site held extensive oak palisades marking a 350-meter-long ship (1,500 feet). Inside the the adjacent Experience Center, a unique and a state-of-the-art sensory experience where you'll discover life as a Viking and a warrior, the path to Valhalla as well as the transition to Christianity, a unique and a state-of-the-art sensory experience.
