Passengers Can Enjoy the Ultimate in Pampering Aboard Royal Princess

Expanded Lotus Spa Features “The Enclave” Thermal Suite Sanctuary and Retreat Pool Offer Adults-Only Relaxation Areas with New Features and Private Cabanas

Passengers looking to relax and rejuvenate aboard Royal Princess will find a wealth of options for revitalization. The expanded Lotus Spa features beautiful new facilities and a location just off the atrium – a convenient stop for passengers enjoying a treatment before or after the many activities and dining options nearby. Up on the top deck, passengers will find that two of the line’s signature features - The Sanctuary and the line’s popular adults-only pool – have also been enhanced with new features including private cabanas for the first time.

In the Lotus Spa, cruisers will find a welcoming feel and contemporary, sophisticated décor, as well as more treatment rooms than any other Princess spa. New features include private Couples Villas and The Enclave – a thermal suite that is triple the size of any existing Lotus Spa. Here passengers can totally decompress with new relaxing options such as the Hammam (a Turkish-style steam room), the Caldarium (an herbal steam room), the Laconium (a dry heat sauna) and the line’s first-ever hydro-therapy pool.

With a new look and feel, the larger Sanctuary features fresh décor plus two new private cabana options along with its plush loungers and Serenity Stewards. Meanwhile, the Retreat Pool provides a serene spot for a dip, along with its new poolside cabanas that offer an extra peaceful haven for passengers looking to recharge. The three new private cabana options will give passengers the opportunity to personalize their relaxation time. Cabana guests looking for a gourmet treat can order one of the ship’s new cabana picnic baskets, packed with artisan edibles paired with a premium wine. And, this area will turn into the “Chill Lounge” at night, offering passengers a relaxed outdoor space to enjoy the night with drinks and music.

Lotus Spa Features:

The Enclave® – The central feature of Princess’ largest-ever thermal suite is the dramatic hydro-therapy pool to help rejuvenate the mind and body with a cascading rain shower and therapeutic air jets in various locations around the pool. Passengers can also choose to relax on heated stone beds or soothing water beds, plus enjoy steam and sauna options using different temperatures, humidity zones, and aroma infusions to offer a sense of rejuvenation. New features include:

  • The Hammam – A Turkish-style steam bath to enhance well-being, the Hammam’s warm marble slab is a soothing addition to a massage and can be used with clay, mud or salt treatments.
  • The Caldarium – A feature taken from Roman times, this warm, light steam ceramic chamber offers an infusion of herbal aromas. Walls, floors and seats are heated for a deep penetrating warmth that promotes relaxation.
  • The Laconium – This warm, dry chamber gradually warms the body to help with purification and detoxification.
  • Sensory Showers – Passengers can choose from four different experiences: Tropical Rain, Cold Mist, Rain Shower or Siberian Shower, which also include dynamic mood lighting and aromas to enrich the experience.

Scrub & Shine Bar – As a prelude to any spa treatment, or as an addition to use in The Enclave, passengers can get recommendations from a “mixologist” for the perfect scrubs to complement their treatments. The bar offers a selection of salt and sugar scrubs to choose from, which can be “spiced up” by adding a mixture of herbs.

Treatment Rooms – The Lotus Spa on Royal Princess features more treatment rooms than ever before (a total of 18), including two new luxurious Couples Villas. These private retreats offer a quiet place for time together with side-by-side massage tables, a soothing whirlpool bath, customized music for relaxation and a sitting area with ocean views.

Relaxation Lounge – A private space to relax before a treatment, this comfortable lounge features a calming atmosphere and scenic ocean views. Passengers can enjoy a cup of herbal tea or fruit-infused water as they unwind.

Lotus Spa Salon – Within the spa, a full service salon provides a range of services, including a new “social” nail bar with side-by-side stations for an interactive manicure experience. Also offered here are private teeth whitening stations with individual TVs, pedicure stations and a barber shop for men.

Sanctuary and Retreat Pool Features:

The Sanctuary – This oasis of tranquility includes all the special touches that have made The Sanctuary so popular since it was first introduced in 2006, plus a number of new features. With a 20 percent larger space than on the line’s other ships, The Sanctuary adds four private Sanctuary Cabanas for more luxurious experience, plus two Lotus Spa Cabanas offering an elegant private space for a range of spa treatments. Featuring the air of a romantic hideaway under its distinctive white canopy cover, The Sanctuary design includes strategically placed rock gardens and special topiary planting with atmospheric lighting. These new elements create an inviting path leading to a new central pavilion. Passengers can relax on luxurious plush lounge chairs or circular daybeds, while Serenity Stewards provide healthy refreshments and music players with peaceful music. Space in The Sanctuary can be reserved for $20 for a half day/$40 for a full day, per person.

Sanctuary Cabanas – Within The Sanctuary, four new Sanctuary Cabanas offer an even more exclusive and special experience with amenities such as a personal television with noise-reducing wireless headphones, cushy sofas, luxurious robe and slippers, a welcome cocktail, and healthy snacks including nuts, and dried and fresh fruit. The cabana also features a fully stocked mini-bar with refreshing waters and sodas, as well as a choice of alcoholic options, including beer or wine. Sanctuary Cabanas are available beginning at $80 for a half day.

Lotus Spa Cabanas/Royal Indulgence Package – The two new, luxurious Lotus Spa Cabanas offer a truly special alfresco massage experience. These larger, enclosed areas provide added privacy, a comfortable resting area with a television and plush chairs, a treatment area with two massage tables for a refreshing couples massage and beautiful ocean views looking out over the front of the ship. A variety of customized packages are available for the Lotus Spa Cabanas, ranging from $320 to $3,000. The top of the line package is a “Royal Indulgence” package for four people. This exclusive experience provides the ultimate in pampering with all-day massages and gourmet food and beverage offerings.

Retreat Pool – Adjacent to The Sanctuary, the Retreat Pool provides an exclusive area for adults to relax and rejuvenate. The Retreat Pool on Royal Princess offers more space and seating than the adult pools on other Princess vessels, plus adds new Retreat Cabanas that can be reserved for an enhanced experience. These cabanas are the perfect way to enjoy private space poolside, or even add the indulgence of one of the ship’s special picnic baskets. The Retreat Pool is open to all adults, and Retreat Pool Cabana rental is available beginning at $50 for a half day. At night, this area turns into the “Chill Lounge,” offering passengers a relaxed outdoor space to enjoy the night with drinks and music.
