St. Lucia
The island of St. Lucia has dramatic coastlines that frame a setting of tranquility and natural beauty. Its people pride themselves in the care of their natural resources, which makes this an ideal environment for outdoor enthusiasts. Thriving coral reefs provide ample snorkeling and diving opportunities while the mountainous rain forest preserves offer superb hiking and bird watching.
Sulfur Springs
The location of the world's only drive-in volcanic crater. With its hot, bubbling holes of sulfuric waters, the Soufriere area has the most dramatic scenery on the island, featuring the primeval, twin volcanic peaks of the Pitons, rising almost 2,500 feet.
Diamond Botanical Gardens & Falls
The splendid foliage of these botanical gardens is part of Soufriere Estate, a 2,000-acre plot with a path that leads to a gorge where underground hot springs stream downhill to become the Diamond Waterfall and the curative mineral baths.
Morne Coubaril Estate
Situated above the picturesque town of Soufriere, this restored working plantation is a step back in time to the early 1800s. Visit the workers' village and watch demonstrations of cacao, copra and manioc processing.
