Taking Care of Business
Passage Contract
The Passage Contract is enclosed in your Princess Cruise documentation packet. Please read all information carefully as it is binding and affects your legal rights.
Pre-Cruise Documentation
A pre-cruise information letter is enclosed. This letter contains important information about your cruise, including required travel documentation and pre-cruise reservation of shore excursions.
Cruise Personalizer
In advance of your cruise, visit the Cruise Personalizer to confirm your booking is complete. Ensure your name appears exactly as shown in your passport. If the name does not match, it's important you contact the Princess Reservations Department at 1-800-PRINCESS or your travel agent to correct this information. Also, verify that your passport details and emergency contact information are complete and correct.
If you do not have Internet access, contact your travel agent for assistance.
Pre-Reserve Before You Cruise
Prior to your cruise, pre-reserve your dining preferences, special requests, celebrations, Lotus Spa treatments* and shore excursions using our Cruise Personalizer.
* Lotus Spa pre-reservations not available on Pacific Princess, Regal Princess, Tahitian Princess, Sun Princess, Dawn Princess or Sea Princess. Lotus Spa advanced reservations are accepted between 90 and 7 days prior to departure.
Passenger Immigration Form Required in Advance of Your Cruise
Each passenger is responsible for providing Princess with a completed and accurate Passenger Immigration Form. This form can be completed online using the Cruise Personalizer, upon confirmation of your booking. Please provide Princess with this information at least 45 days prior to your cruise. Failure to provide this information will result in delayed check-in and, possibly, denied boarding. If you do not have online access, you may download the form here, complete it and fax them to 661-753-0182 no later than 45 days in advance of your cruise. You may also contact your travel agent or call 1-800-PRINCESS for further information.
For non-U.S. citizens or legal residents, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security requires you to provide your address while in the United States before and after your cruise. If you are taking a cruise only, the address is the ship.
Express Check-In
Most embarkation ports offer the convenience and ease of Express Check-In. To qualify, simply provide us with your completed Passenger Immigration Form, including the registration of your credit card, at least 45 days in advance of your cruise. This will save you time and help us make your embarkation easier, so you can start enjoying your cruise even sooner.
Preferred Check-In is provided for Platinum and Elite Members of the Princess Captain's Circle and passengers occupying full suites. Have your documents or Membership card handy when you arrive at the cruise check-in area.
FlightChoiceSM Air
If you have purchased Princess FlightChoiceSM or FlightChoice Plus, your flight arrangements will be made by Princess. All flights are subject to change. We recommend you contact the airlines directly to reconfirm flights, advise any special travel needs and request specific seat assignments. The airlines will have passenger names on record approximately 30 days prior to departure. Please verify that the spelling of names shown on your cruise booking matches the identification that will be presented at the airport check-in. Air flights can be customized for a fee, starting at $50 per person, plus any additional air costs. Please contact our FlightChoice Plus department at least 30 days prior to departure by calling 1-800-PRINCESS (1-800-421-1700).
Princess-Purchased Air Arrangements
As all flight information is subject to change, we recommend that you contact the airlines directly to reconfirm flights, any special travel needs and to obtain seat assignments. The airlines will have passenger names on record approximately 30 days prior to departure.
Etiquette
Everyone at Princess is committed to ensuring you have a great time on your cruise. So, to preserve a relaxed and friendly atmosphere onboard, we ask that you observe a few guidelines.
- When formal nights are held, please observe the dress code in the Traditional Dining and Anytime Dining venues for the enjoyment of all our guests. For details regarding this, please see the section entitled: ONBOARD ATTIRE.
- Smoking is not allowed in the dining rooms, or any other food service area, or in the show lounges and theaters. Smoking is permitted in staterooms, stateroom balconies, and designated areas. As a courtesy to your fellow passengers, please refrain from smoking pipes and cigars in all public rooms.
- Should you wish to videotape onboard during your cruise, please feel free to do so. However, videotaping the onboard entertainment performances is not allowed for copyright reasons.
- Inappropriate dress such as pool or beach attire, shorts, ball caps and casual jeans (with fraying and/or holes), is not permitted in the dining rooms.

Additionally, only those passengers 21 years and older will be allowed to purchase or consume alcohol. Picture identification may be requested.
Cashless Cruising
One of the best things about cruising with Princess is the convenience of being able to sign for all your expenses and have them charged to your stateroom. An itemized statement will be delivered to your stateroom prior to disembarkation. By providing your credit card in advance, you are automatically registered for Express Check-Out. There is no need to visit the Passenger Services/Purser's Desk to settle your account. We accept U.S., Canadian, British and Euro currencies, and traveler's checks. Express/Optima®, Diners Club/Carte Blanche®, Discover® Network, the JCB Card®, MasterCard® and Visa® are also accepted. Those paying by traveler's checks or cash will be required to leave a cash deposit with the Purser's staff at the beginning of the cruise.
Princess Cruises® Rewards Visa® cardholders earn DOUBLE Princess points on all Princess purchases. Learn more about the Princess Rewards Visa® card.
Casino
Charges for obtaining chips and tokens in the casino are limited to $1,500 USD per day, up to a total limit of $5,000 USD per cruise and are only available if you have pre-registered a credit card with the Passenger Service/Purser's Desk for Express Check-Out. For inquiries, players should call 1-800-5CASINO (1-800-522-7466) or go to www.oceanplayersclub.com. Please note: There is a 3% processing fee applied to all casino room charges and cash advances. These advances are billed directly to your shipboard account.
Celebrating a Special Occasion
Princess makes your birthday, wedding, honeymoon, anniversary or renewal of vows even more memorable. If you have your travel agent advise us of any occasions of particular importance at least 45 days prior to your departure, we'll set our "special occasion" staff in motion, so you can enjoy our fabulous "extra mile" service. Choose special touches like flowers, wine and champagne. Learn more about celebrating a special occasion onboard or access this information online via Cruise Personalizer.
Please note: Some special occasion services require additional charges.
Dining Room Reservations
When you book your Princess cruise, your travel agent specifies your dining preferences. Be sure to indicate your choice of Traditional Dining, the classic experience, or Anytime DiningSM, where you can make plans convenient for you. Should you need to change this request, please call your travel agent no later than three weeks before you sail. All requests for dining preferences and changes are considered on a first-come, first-served basis. Please understand that it is not always possible to accommodate dining preferences or alter seating arrangements once they are reserved. We will do our best to accommodate your preference.
Anytime DiningSM/Traditional Dining
Anytime Dining offers a more flexible dining experience. Just like at a restaurant, arrive anytime between 5:30 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. to enjoy dinner alone or with friends.* On select ships, you may also make reservations while onboard if you would like to dine at a particular time. If you opt for Traditional Dining, your seating is shown on your cruise documents. The Maître d'hôtel will have a list of those passengers who are waitlisted for each dining seating. Should seats become available, he will contact waitlisted passengers onboard as appropriate.
*Not available on Regal Princess, Pacific Princess, or Tahitian Princess.
Special Diets
Princess is happy to meet your request for low-sodium, low-fat, low-sugar, and vegetarian diets. In addition, kosher meals (frozen entrées only) and baby food are available upon advance written request. Any other special diet requests must be authorized in advance by the Princess corporate office.
Please ask your travel agent to advise Princess in writing at least four weeks before you sail of any special diet, allergies or medical needs. For exotic cruises, please advise us of any special dietary requirements at least two months prior to sailing. For your convenience, you can also supply this information online using our Cruise Personalizer. Once onboard, please check with the Maître d'hôtel to confirm your request.
Shore Excursions
Exploring ports of call is one of the highlights of your cruise, and one of the best ways to do this is on an organized shore excursion through the Adventures Ashore® program. Your Adventures Ashore brochure is included in your Pre-Cruise Information Packet and provides information on ports of call and excursions available during your cruise. Tours are operated by local independent companies, not by Princess Cruises.
You will find many options for adventure and entertainment when you reach a port of call. You can opt for local sightseeing and shopping, or you may want to experience more of what your destination has to offer. A complete selection of shore excursions like taking nature walks, snorkeling, touring historic sites and monuments, appreciating famous paintings, meeting local families, or enjoying a ballet performance and many other adventures, are available at each port.
Many shore excursions have limited space available, so reservation requests will be processed in the order received. Therefore, we encourage you to reserve tours as early as possible. When excursions are fully booked, additional requests will be placed on a waiting list in the order received.
You can pre-reserve your tours, review the most up-to-date tour information and receive real-time confirmation of tours online using the Cruise Personalizer up until 14 days prior to sailing. In most cases, you may begin to book your tours on the Cruise Personalizer 75 to 120 days prior to your cruise. If you don't have online access, simply complete the enclosed tour form and fax it to 1-661-753-0820, or mail it to Princess Cruises at P.O. Box 938, Santa Clarita, CA 91380-9038; Attn: Data Entry/ShoreEx. In order to process your tour selections, we must receive your form by the closing date listed. Your tickets will be delivered on embarkation day to your stateroom and will be charged to your onboard account.
